After the passing of his father and the birth of his daughter, Haitian-born Jean has rededicated himself to fighting hunger and AIDS in his native country as well as helping children in the U.S. with not one, but two non-profit organizations. Jean's humanity shines through on the The Carnival II as he teams up with an impressive list of artists including Mary J. Blige, T.I., and Shakira. Norah Jones adds her magic on "Any Other Day," while "Fast Car" features Paul Simon, and "Riot" adds a rock touch with Serj Tankian (System of a Down) and Sizzla. Akon and Lil' Wayne join Jean on "Sweetest Girl," a thought-provoking track about a young immigrant fighting to survive.
